The Banking Offer has proven to be an amazing resource and I am so proud to be a part of it. One of the biggest challenges that came out of the COVID-19 pandemic was that it became much more difficult to network with professionals and peers. However, TBO pushed through that barrier and it allowed me to build connections with professionals working all over the financial services industry.
The guest speaker events were very insightful and gave me a better picture of all the different career paths banking opens up for you. It’s been an amazing experience and I’m definitely going to take what I learned from TBO and apply it to how I structure the future of my career.
Arsh Shah
From NYU to Guggenheim Partners
As a Freshman, the recruiting process seemed like it would be very difficult for me when I’d become a Sophomore. I didn’t really understand all the things that go into it, such as the organization, the networking calls, and the emails you need to send out to bankers. There are so many different components you need to take into account to even have a chance at getting a first-round interview at a bank.
But TBO helped me completely demystify the process. Their mentors tell you the best ways to send out a networking email and what to say during your coffee chats with bankers. Having that support team constantly is a big part of why I ended up going into the interview process with a positive mindset and really delivering on what I expected myself to deliver.
Whenever I had questions, I’d always ping the chat I shared with my mentors and the team would always be there to help me out. They’d help with anything from reading over an email that I was about to send to a banker or how to properly approach a networking call with an MD.
Dafe Uvieghara
From Boston College to Evercore
The cost of university only increases year over year. And that was a huge factor in my decision to pursue a career in investment banking. Starting your career in IB is one of the best things you can do. It’s fairly lucrative for a 22-year-old coming right out of college. In addition, it’s especially important for students who attend expensive universities and need to pay off loans after graduation.
But getting a job in banking certainly isn’t easy. You have to be very organized and mindful of the conversations you’ve had with bankers. And it proved to be very overwhelming for me as a sophomore in college. However, the mentors at The Banking Offer were always there for me and helped me to successfully navigate recruiting. Faizan taught me the best ways to go about handling the process and we came up with a game plan that would enable me to win multiple offers.
Once we had a plan in place, it was like a trailblazer. I ended up working really hard, but it wasn’t a way that I had ever worked before. I was very efficient and networked effectively with everyone I spoke to. All of this eventually led me to land an internship offer at Evercore.
David Gibbons
From Emory University to Houlihan Lokey
Looking back at how my recruiting process went, I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to have a mentor while you’re going through it. Being able to rely on the TBO mentors who all genuinely care about your success is really important.
Going to my school’s technical reviews versus going to TBO’s technical reviews was like night and day. My school hosted interview prep sessions as well, but TBO’s sessions were spot on and the mentors know exactly what you’re going to be asked during your investment banking interviews. They laid out ways to answer each of the questions in a very pragmatic way.
Additionally, every week there’s an industry professional who will come speak to TBO students and I learned a great deal from those fireside chats. These discussions covered different industries besides investment banking, such as real estate and private equity. It’s through these sessions that you’re able to get a gauge of what it’s like to work in other roles, which is very helpful when you think about what your career will look like after banking.
Jaime Matos
From Brown University to Guggenheim Partners
TBO has been instrumental in the reinforcement of my technical and market knowledge.
One of the most helpful opportunities that TBO offers is the chance to discuss deals and transactions that occur in the markets with other high-achieving students on a daily basis. TBO not only helped me gain the technical skill set that’s needed to succeed in the recruitment process through webinars, mock interviews, and guides, but also the emotional and interpersonal skill set that’s essential for your career growth.
Herman Wan
From Boston College to Citi
The mentors at TBO are all amazing and have great attention to detail. I like to think that I have pretty good attention to detail, but whenever the mentors go through my resume, they’re always able to spot errors and provide suggestions for improvement. Having someone available to check the work you’re doing as well as someone who holds you to a high standard is essential for this recruiting process.
Additionally, the TBO training platform did a great job explaining concepts that I’ve always found to be difficult to understand. The content is very engaging and made the learning process so much easier for me. It was definitely the most effective resource I’ve used to prepare for my Citi interview.
Courtney Horvath
From Princeton University to Goldman Sachs
Everyone at TBO is very kind and welcoming. But at the same time, they’re all extremely intelligent people. Reading people’s messages on my phone gives off the impression everyone’s smart and knows what they’re talking about when it comes to investment banking recruiting. At the same time, when I get to meet everyone in person, they’re actually real people who have awesome personalities and are great to get along with.
The guest speakers that come on to talk to TBO’s students have been absolutely amazing and I’ve been able to ask them very personal things. These include questions about my trajectory in finance and the best ways to get involved. They were all able to answer my questions in holistic, appropriate, and helpful ways that have had a significant impact on how I approached the investment banking recruiting process.
Joshua Park
From Boston College to Nomura
The recruiting process was originally a very foreign process to me. I was trying to figure out the networking process, where all the banks were, and how the application process works (which happens to be a lot different than the college application process).
When I learned about The Banking Offer and everything that the Sophomore Spark offers, it sounded like something that I needed and a resource that could nearly guarantee me an internship.
Whether it was teaching some of the technical aspects or how to approach the behavioral questions, TBO always had helpful advice for me. The mentors were also able to instill a sense of confidence that allowed me to feel well-prepared for any interview or coffee chat I had with a banker.
Jun-Hong Chen
From Boston College to Aeris Partners
I didn’t get into the Investment Banking Accelerator Program at my school and I thought my chances of getting an offer were basically zero. I found myself getting interviews, but I struggled with moving past the first round interviews and had a hard time answering the technical questions.
However, in the end, I received 3 investment banking offers and I have to thank TBO for that. TBO helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses as a candidate. After working with the team, I was able to build a strong story that resonated with a lot of bankers. I was also able to use my professional skating experience as a positive rather than a negative when answering behavioral questions.
One of the biggest advantages of TBO was being able to have that personal prep. The mock interviews made a significant difference during my recruiting process. They got me up to speed and prepared me for the exact questions I going to be asked – specifically the technical questions that I originally struggled with.
TBO’s video curriculum taught me everything I needed to know about the recruiting process – especially since I didn’t really know much going into it. The TBO platform had a lot of great resources to get me up to speed for any type of interview that I was going to get.
Keith MacMahon
From Indiana University to Morgan Stanley
The TBO training platform is truly different from any other platform out there. All the educational content you’ll need for your interviews is in one place – whether it be how to properly network or learning about the technical aspects of finance or how to answer certain behavioral questions. I think that’s really unparalleled when you look at other specific guides that may be more technical-focused or more behavioral-focused.
Furthermore, a lot of what you’ll see online are different PDF guides that may walk you through how to approach the recruiting process. However, when you’re hearing it from someone who’s been through the process themselves, has gotten multiple offers, and is already working at a bank, it makes a huge difference. You’re going to get the best piece of advice from a person in front of you and not just from another guide. And that’s only one of the many different ways TBO helps you win offers.
Luke LeLay
From Northeastern University to Bank of America Investment Banking
TBO was an incredibly supportive resource that I could rely on during the recruiting process. Not only did it provide me with moral support, but it was also a place I could turn to for advice and feedback from those who had already succeeded in the process.
One of the most helpful resources was the mock interviews TBO hosted. As a spectator, having the opportunity to hear new questions, and how they were answered was extremely valuable. After the mock sessions were over, open discussion among members provided an even greater opportunity to connect with others and share general advice about recruiting.
In addition to the great programs and events, TBO’s biggest value add is the people. Coming from a non-target school where there is no support system around investment banking recruiting makes the process significantly more challenging. Thankfully, TBO is able to fill that gap.
The bottom line is: TBO supported me in my journey as an investment banker by helping to connect me with individuals who were also going through the investment banking recruitment process, as well as with others who had already secured offers.
Noa Kimura
From NYU to Nomura
TBO proved to be an amazing resource for me and I’m so glad I was a part of it. The recruiting process can be extremely overwhelming, but with TBO you get access to a lot of different mentors and workshops that go through the key technical topics you’ll need to know for your interviews.
TBO also has a lot of guest speakers who work across the financial services industry come in and talk to students. It was pretty cool to be able to interact with current investment bankers, ex-investment bankers and people who work in Private Equity and the buy side. These were very informative and made me realize that TBO not only cares about your first job out of college but your whole career path.
Sarah Cheah
From Babson College to Ares
The workshops and office hours that the senior mentors at TBO hosted were all incredibly helpful – perfect timing because I was in the interview process and needed a quick refresher! Faizan personally reached out to me to help with interview prep and helped me choose which firm to accept an offer from!
TBO is a unique community of extremely driven and intelligent people and I’m so proud to be surrounded by great influences that I know will always push me to be the best and ensure my success. Banking is such a competitive field but everyone is willing to help each other here, explain concepts, and even share opportunities for everyone to apply to. Together, the workshops and resources have given me great insights as to how to best prepare myself for the role.
Shreya Mohandas
From Emory University to Houlihan Lokey
When I was in the middle of the investment banking recruiting process, members of TBO were so generous with their time and thoroughly walked me through any technical concepts I was struggling with. Additionally, the fireside chats that TBO hosts were really informative in terms of learning how to prepare for summer analyst interviews as well as how to succeed during the internship.
For me, the most valuable aspect of TBO has been the interview preparation it offers – whether it is to hop on a Zoom call to do a mock interview with one of the mentors or observing other students’ mock interviews. Above all, TBO has helped guide me through the daunting interview process – everything from technical prep to general career advice.
Sophia Green
From Rutgers University to Mizuho
Everyone here is so like-minded. The atmosphere of TBO is way more relaxed than what you might typically expect from a finance prep group. TBO has proven to be a fantastic resource for me in many different areas of recruiting.
Attending the TBO Summit over the summer was a lot of fun as well and I’m so happy they were able to put it together. There’s no way I can even compare this to another program.
Sophie Krum
From University of Michigan to Nomura Investment Banking
The Banking Offer has been such a welcoming community and answers any questions I have. I had my first-ever interview (which happened to be an investment banking interview) this past semester and TBO was a fantastic resource I could turn to when preparing for it.
Thanks to TBO, I was ready for my interview and succeeded in landing my investment banking internship. Additionally, I’ve had a great time attending the guest speaker webinars that TBO regularly hosts. These give students a chance to learn more about different career paths after banking and offer opportunities to network with professionals in a relaxed setting.
What I appreciated the most throughout this process is that the TBO team understands no question is a bad question, and everyone is going through the same recruiting struggles. The team is always there to answer any questions I have and offer advice!
Tiffany Chen
From Baruch College to JPM Corporate and IB Internship
The Banking Offer provided me with a support system of wonderful people who were willing to teach me the ins and outs of the recruiting process. It was great having the opportunity to attend live mock interview practices to better understand how the interview process works.
Additionally, it was helpful to have a supportive community of professionals and peers to turn to if I ever had any questions or needed support with my career.
Mustafa Mir
From Cornell University to 2024 Capital Markets Summer Analyst
TBO has been a game-changer in my pursuit of a career in investment banking. The constant mentorship provided invaluable guidance, helping me navigate the competitive landscape with confidence. This program created a strong community where I could connect with like-minded peers and mentors who genuinely cared about my success. I appreciated the structured approach to learning technical skills, which built my confidence going into interviews. The sense of camaraderie among fellow participants helped alleviate the pressure of competition, reminding me I wasn’t alone in this challenging journey.
TBO has been a pivotal part of my investment banking journey. As a rising junior at Cornell, I faced challenges in networking and the competitive nature of the industry. However, the mentorship I received from TBO was invaluable. Having a dedicated mentor to reach out to made all the difference, providing guidance right before interviews and helping me refine my skills.
Jabir Rahman
From University of Richmond to UR ETF Fund
My experience with TBO has been incredibly positive and impactful. The tailored coaching and support, especially from mentors like Arsh and Reba, have been essential in preparing for key interviews and navigating the finance recruitment process. The program’s structure, with its no-upfront-payment model, reflects a strong commitment to our success, ensuring that we only invest when we achieve results. The flexibility and dedication of the mentors were standout features, offering invaluable guidance during critical phases of my job search. However, I believe the program could be further enhanced by incorporating a more diverse range of mentors from various finance sectors such as asset management, equity research, and sales and trading. This broader perspective would enrich the advice and support available, tailoring it more specifically to different finance roles.
Additionally, more frequent touchpoints with mentors, especially during high-stakes moments like superdays, would greatly benefit participants. While the webinars and quizzes were comprehensive, integrating more practical, real-world insights into these sessions would make them even more effective. Overall, TBO provided excellent preparation, and I highly recommend it for those serious about a career in finance.
Michael Zhang
From University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to Citi
TBO completely changed how I approached investment banking recruiting. The resources, like the detailed guides and templates, covered every possible question I had and made me feel fully prepared for interviews. On top of that, the mock interviews with peers gave me the practice and feedback I needed to refine my responses and feel confident walking into interviews. What really stood out to me was the mentorship. My mentor wasn’t just a guide but someone who understood the entire recruiting process and gave me actionable advice. Whether it was networking, interview prep, or how to follow up after coffee chats, they were instrumental in my success.
Because of TBO, I landed internships at Citi in New York and Generation Investment Management in London, opportunities that I would’ve thought were out of reach before joining. The program’s pay-after-you-succeed structure made it accessible for me without worrying about upfront costs, which was a big relief. If you’re serious about breaking into investment banking, I can’t recommend TBO enough. It’s a game-changer.

The TBO program truly transformed my approach to the recruitment process. From the very start, I felt supported by a fantastic network of peers and mentors. Having an accountability partner was pivotal for me. We pushed each other to stay on top of our tasks and practice together. The diverse feedback from mentors was invaluable it helped me pinpoint my strengths and address my weaknesses from different angles.
One of the most important aspects was the flexible payment structure. It took a lot of pressure off my shoulders, allowing me to make decisions without worrying about upfront costs. My parents, who were unfamiliar with the investment banking field and its recruitment process, were initially skeptical. But seeing the results and my excitement about the role I landed has convinced them of the program’s value. I’m genuinely grateful for this program. Do I have to be in school to participate in the program? What year should I join?
No, you do not need to be a student. Our program is designed to support Undergraduates, MBA candidates & Working Professionals. Whether you are recruiting through on-campus cycles or pursuing lateral hiring opportunities as an experienced hire, the fundamental requirements—technical mastery, case preparation, and networking strategy—are identical. We recommend joining as soon as you commit to pursuing a career in Finance or Consulting, as this maximizes the time you have to build your network and perfect your technical skills before interviews begin. (career changers) alike.
Candidates who join early maximize their leverage, allowing ample time to master technical concepts and build a strong network for competitive tracks like Investment Banking, Private Equity, and Quantitative Finance.
For students (Undergrad & MBA): Recruiting often concludes more than a year in advance of the start date.
For working professionals: Successful lateral moves require a significant runway for networking prior to application windows.
Therefore, we recommend joining as early as possible to gain a competitive edge. If you are entering the process with a shorter timeline, we encourage you to apply and meet with a mentor to discuss which career track aligns best with your current credentials and the live market availability of roles.
What is the general recruiting timeline for Finance and Consulting?
While specific dates vary by firm, two major trends now dominate the recruiting landscape for both Finance and Consulting: applications are opening earlier, yet the interview process is extending over a longer duration. First, competition for top talent has accelerated the timeline. Firms now utilize ‘early access’ programs and pre-hiring events to identify high-potential candidates long before formal applications open. This applies to undergraduate internships, MBA recruiting, and lateral hiring alike.
Second, firms have extended their interview timelines to maintain flexibility amidst changing market conditions. Rather than filling an entire class in one week, many firms now hire in ‘batches’ or on a rolling basis. This allows them to align headcount with real-time business needs, meaning opportunities often arise later in the cycle for candidates who stay engaged.
What if I don’t fit the standard eligibility timeline for my target role?
Recruiting for Finance and Consulting is rigid, but your timeline doesn’t have to be. Many candidates—from undergraduates to MBA students—choose to extend their schooling or adjust their graduation dates to align with a new recruiting cycle.
This tactic effectively gives you a ‘second shot’ at the most prestigious roles. While it requires careful planning regarding tuition and timing, the potential to double your starting compensation makes it a strategy worth considering. Our mentors can help you navigate the logistics of this decision.
Does TBC accept students who are outside of the US?
Our programs are limited to candidates in the United States exclusively. This gives us the best opportunity to leverage our existing network in the US. In addition, the US recruiting process has very specific intricacies that we focus on in our curriculum.
Do I need a specific degree or background to break into Finance or Consulting?
Absolutely not. Top firms in Finance and Consulting actively recruit candidates from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, including Liberal Arts.
It is important to note that most academic curricula—even at top business schools—do not cover the practical, real-world technicals required to pass a technical interview or case study. Our program is designed to take candidates from any background and provide end-to-end training, ensuring you can master the material and frame your unique story as a competitive advantage.
Do I need a ‘perfect’ profile to break into Finance or Consulting?
No. While top firms use metrics like GPA and university pedigree as initial filters, they are not absolute barriers.
For students, academic performance is weighed heavily. For experienced professionals, relevant work history and transferable skills take precedence. In both cases, candidates with ‘imperfect’ backgrounds frequently land offers by demonstrating technical mastery and using a direct networking strategy to bypass automated application screeners. We help you identify the right approach based on your specific strengths.
How much does my school or professional background impact the recruiting process?
Top firms in Finance and Consulting have historically relied on ‘Target Schools’ and ‘Blue Chip Companies’ as primary filters to manage the massive volume of applications.
The Advantage: Candidates from these institutions often receive streamlined access to interviews because firms view them as ‘lower risk’ hires with proven track records. Additionally, strong alumni networks make it easier to secure referrals.
The Reality Today: However, pedigree is not destiny. Since 2020, firms have aggressively expanded their recruiting to include candidates from Non-Target schools and diverse professional backgrounds. Today, nearly 50% of interview invitations at top firms go to candidates outside the traditional ‘core’ schools.
The Strategy: If you come from a non-target background, you simply need a different strategy. While you may not have on-campus recruiting, you can level the playing field by executing a higher volume of networking outreach to demonstrate the skills and grit that ‘pedigree’ candidates are assumed to possess.
How long is the training period?
The total curriculum can last between 10-15 weeks, depending on the competitiveness of the roles we are pursuing together & the experience you enter the program with. Candidates pursuing the most competitive roles, such as Investment Banking or Management Consulting, will need to complete additional self-study modules and interview training that are specific to these roles compared to others from other career tracks, and are required to conduct a larger volume of networking calls arranged for them through the Networking Automation Platform™. Candidates that enter the program with previous training & coursework in various financial concepts may progress through the curriculum faster than others.
Following the core training period, we continue to offer Networking & Application support through our proprietary software. During this period, Candidates can also schedule Interview Prep sessions with mentors, including contextual preparation & mock interviews, for all interviews that they are invited to.
Finally, members will retain lifetime access to self-study courses in our curriculum, member-restricted content (such as the latest verified interview questions for each firm), and live 1-on-1 support with the mentorship team.
What is the weekly time commitment?
The weekly time commitment will depend on several key factors, including when you enrolled in the program, the recruiting credibility established by the candidate prior to their enrollment, and the other commitments the candidate will be balancing during this time. These factors & the specific weekly time commitment recommended for each candidate is discussed after you’re invited to an intro call with our team.
In general, candidates are expected to commit 10+ hours per week for 10 weeks for the Initial Training Bootcamp. Our mentorship team will take a lot of the work off your plate – from organizing recruiting schedules, finalizing application materials, & arranging networking calls on your target list – but candidates must still create time for activities like attending workshops, completing mock interviews with our team, & taking networking calls. Your Mentors will help you plan around your own busy schedule, to keep you on track with your peers in the same Career Track.
Candidates will have the flexibility to watch recorded sessions in The Banking Club app at their convenience.
Will you help me through the internship as well? Or full-time role?
Candidates that receive internship offers will unlock access to additional content & live workshops heading into internships & during the internships themselves to help them place into the best groups within their bank & secure full time offers. In addition, we host exclusive workshops for candidates with return offers during their Senior Year in college to prepare for Buyside Recruiting.
Who are the mentors?
Our mentors are experienced professionals from the world’s top Investment Banks, Private Equity funds, and Management Consulting firms. Upon enrolling, you are matched with a mentor based on your specific background—whether you are an undergraduate, MBA student, or working professional—to ensure you receive relevant, high-impact guidance.
We maintain a rigorous review process to ensure every mentor is delivering elite-level coaching tailored to your individual career path.
Why is enrollment limited for certain Career Tracks?
For Career Tracks with a hyper-competitive application process, such as Investment Banking and Management Consulting, we limit the number of candidates we enroll to give our members the best competitive advantage against other candidates. These Career Tracks require the greatest attention to detail & 1-on-1 mentorship investment from our team, and limiting the cohort size ensures each member has the coaching experience they need to optimize their results. We inform candidates during our intro calls if they are a strong fit for these hyper-competitive career tracks & if we wish to support them in recruiting for these roles.
In addition, most firms actively limit the number of hires for their most competitive functions to ensure diverse analyst classes, whether you attend target schools or non-target schools or changing careers. Thus, in some Career Tracks, we also limit our cohorts to a handful of candidates to ensure our members remain competitive against the majority of their peers.
Do you provide an authorized certification to boost my application?
Demand for elite careers in Finance and Consulting has skyrocketed in recent years, driven by rising compensation packages and industry growth. In addition, recruiting for the most competitive roles has steadily shifted to earlier timelines, creating a need for candidates to establish professional credibility as quickly as possible in their journey.
Candidates may be eligible for a Certification of Completion after completing the core 10-week portion of the program. This serves to alert members of our network across the industry of a candidate’s affiliation with the program, and to further bolster their credibility during the application process.
